Platinum Jubilee Village Events
Come and celebrate Her Majesty the Queen’s record breaking reign – starts today Thursday 2nd June to Sunday 5th June.
To mark the Platinum Jubilee our village has been decorated with red, white and blue flowers, ribbons, flags and yarn bombing displays.
The Green will be home to beacon lighting, a tree-planting ceremony and a community picnic, followed by games and live music, for all to enjoy. Also lots of events involving dancing, crafting, eating and drinking at various village venues.
Here are some Thursday 2nd of June highlights:
- 8.30am – 4pm Mini cream tea, Afternoon tea: Jasper’s Cafe
- 9am – 9pm Craft-ernoon Tea, Ploughman’s Lunch: Jubilee Pitcher’s & Cocktails | Pizza van on at lunchtime
- 10am – 4.30pm Jubilee Afternoon Tea & Crafternoon: Debbie Bryan Gallery
- 12-noon – 2pm Tea Dance: The Cottage Hotel
- 9pm Dolphin Morris Men: Frame Breakers Pub
Evening at The Green
- 9.15pm Ruddington Community Choir
- 9.40pm Bugler’s Call entitled ‘ Majesty’ – Ruddington’s bulger Pete Webster
- 9.45pm Beacon Lighting Ceremony with ‘Song for the Commonwealth’ performed by Ruddington Community Choir
Ruddington’s long weekend of events will also see a “Memory Tree’ on The Green, plus a display about the history of the Ruddington WI inside the Framework Knitters’ Museum (FKM) – and it will also have some big Jubilee plans in and around its Chapel Street venue.
